MRXUH Cardiovascular Laboratory provides non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic procedures to evaluate cardiovascular function to both in-patients and out-patients.

• ELECTROCARDIOGRAM (ECG) – 12-LEAD / 15-LEAD

A quick, painless test that records the heart’s electrical activity to detect rhythm problems, heart strain, or possible heart attack.

• 2D ECHOCARDIOGRAM (HEART ULTRASOUND)

A non-invasive ultrasound scan that checks the heart’s structure, pumping function, and valves.

Available for:

  • Adult – for routine and specialized heart assessment
  • Pediatric (Pedia) – for infants and children
  • Neonatal – for newborn heart evaluation
  • Fetal Echocardiogram – checks the baby’s heart while still in the womb
  • Bubble Contrast Echo – uses microbubbles to help detect abnormal blood flow or small heart defects

• TRANSESOPHAGEAL ECHOCARDIOGRAM (TEE)

A specialized heart ultrasound performed through the esophagus for clearer and more detailed heart imaging.

• STRESS ECHOCARDIOGRAM

An echo done before and after exercise to assess blood flow and heart performance during physical stress.

• DOBUTAMINE STRESS ECHOCARDIOGRAM

A stress echo using medication (Dobutamine) to simulate exercise for patients who cannot do treadmill testing.

• TREADMILL STRESS TEST

A monitored walking/running test that checks how the heart responds to physical activity and helps detect reduced blood flow.

• VASCULAR DUPLEX SCAN

An ultrasound test that evaluates blood flow and checks for blockage, narrowing, or clots in blood vessels.

  • Carotid Duplex Scan – examines neck arteries to assess stroke risk
  • Arterial Duplex Scan – checks arteries for narrowing or poor circulation
  • Venous Duplex Scan – checks veins for blood clots (DVT) or venous insufficiency

• 24-HOUR / 48-HOUR HOLTER MONITORING

Continuous heart rhythm monitoring to detect irregular heartbeat, palpitations, or unexplained dizziness.
